Thank you for your interest in BakersfieldRestaurants.com. I am selling this site because I simply have not had the time to develop it. I started this site about two years ago and have been able to accomplish very little. In my initial research I found that in any given city there are only two domain names that will support a restaurant advertising site. They are simply the city's name followed by restaurants.com or menus.com. Having both of the names will nearly eliminate the possibility of a competing site. Both BakersfieldRestaurants.com and BakersfieldMenus.com will be included in the sale of this site. If you are interested in having the market for most of the Southern San Joaquin Valley I also own FresnoRestaurants.com and FresnoMenus.com.
The concept is quite simple, get 100 restaurants to advertise on your site(s) at $100.00 per month and you will make $10,000.00 per month. This is gross of course but the only expenses you will have will be the cost of your time, billing (which you can do yourself) and the web hosting service which will be about $50.00 per month. The only other expense would be in advertising your site. You would do this via newspapers, billboards etc. You will only need this type of advertising for a short period of time. Long term advertising is almost always done by trading advertising space i.e. , you put an ad on your site and they put your ad on their site, newspaper, etc.
Besides the income potential the most attractive thing to me about this type of business is that once you have done the initial development, i.e. getting customers to advertise on your site and then creating the web page(s) you will only need about one day a week to maintain it. My sales approach would be to get customers as quickly as possible by giving 60-90 days of free advertising on the site. I would consider charging a nominal up-front fee for the web page creation. You will need to learn how to create web pages but it is really quite simple. Although this site needs some refinement, with a $50.00 software program I put this site together in about two hours. The content of the customers ad should include a picture of the restaurant's interior or exterior, a brief description of the restaurant, the full menu if the customer has no objections and a coupon that a visitor to your site can print on their printer and take to the restaurant to redeem.
The best way to illustrate to you what this site is about and what this site has the potential to become is to provide you with links to restaurant.com sites that have been fully developed. I have provided those links below. I am asking $24,000.00 for this site. If you are a person with ambition and vision you will certainly see that this site will generate that amount many times over in a very short period of time. In lieu of the $24,000.00 I would also consider taking a percentage of what you are able to accomplish with this site. The parameters of this type of agreement will need to be discussed and set.
